What to do in your garden during August

Follow the tips beneath as a basic maintenance guide for your garden this August.

Plant and Sow

Annuals

  • Prepare beds for sowing by digging in compost and 2:3:2 at the rate of 60 g per square metre.
  • Start to sow summer-flowering towards the end of the month.
  • Annuals adapt well to pot cultures like strawberry pots, tubs, terracotta flowerpots.

  • Do not neglect your container plants; prune them lightly and feed and water them regularly.

  • Water and mow the lawn.
