Plant description:
Tree-like, with a branching slender trunk, this shrub can grow to 5m, with each cane topped by a dense terminal rosette of thick, fleshy, deep olive-green leaves that are rather rigid and spread horizontally. Growing in a twisted, snaky way, it has a striking appearance that is favoured by landscapers. D. marginat ‘Tricolour’ is a magnificent Japanese cultivar with a fountain of leaves striped in cream and rosy red.
