Centaurea macrocephala (Globe centaurea)

Needing well-drained soil and division every three or four years to avoid overcrowding, this useful plant has rough-textured, light green leaves and yellow, thistle-like flowers that last well in the vase. C. ragusina has silvery-blue foliage, with tall-stemmed, yellow flowers.
