Plant description:

An attractive dark green tree with rather sickle shaped leaves. It has the capacity to grow huge, although it takes decades, even centuries to do so. The crown is small in relation to the height and often covered with grey lichen. Can be constantly pruned to form a hedge, which makes it useful for landscaping, where screening is needed. It does well near the coast. The Outeniqua yellowwood is South Africa’s national tree.
