Plant description:
A superb, rounded, yellow dwarf conifer that turns bronze-yellow-green in winter. Though slowgrowing, it is suitable for tubs and small gardens. ‘Compacta’ (1.5 x 0.8m) is neat in appearance, with erect, flattened, green foliage. This upright, conical-shaped conifer is suitable for large tubs and small gardens. The quick-growing ‘Elegantissima’ (2.5 x 1m) is an excellent background plant. With its outstanding yellow-green colour and columnar habit, it is among the best large container plants, growing tall while maintaining a good appearance. ‘Garden City’ is pyramid shaped with yellowgreen foliage. P. orientalis was previously known as Thuja orientalis.
Family: Cupressaceae
Synonym: Thuja orientalis
Botanical Pronunciation: plat-ee-KLAD-us or-ee-en-TAY-liss
